Vegie Soup

All the grade 1 and 2 students today made vegie soup from the amazing tasty vegies we grew in our school gardens. We freshly picked potatoes, turnips, celery, parsley, celery, spinach, peas and carrots.
What awesome chefs all the kids were;chopping, slicing, stirring, frying. The queue for soup at lunch time was out the door and just kept growing! Well Done everyone.

Last Chance Planting

Today we have planted 30 new trees in our school yard. The weather is getting warmer and the days are getting longer, yippee. Now is a great time to plant so things can get their roots established before the hot, dry summer months. Grade 4 and grade 1 have planted a tree that they have to look after for the rest of the year to give it the best start possible. We dug big, deeep holes so the plant could send its roots deep into the ground as quickly as possible.
Even if you don't think you'll be in the same place to see it fully grown, Plant a tree this month at home so others in the future can enjoy it.
